Simple sentences have one or more subjects (close to each other) and/or one or more verbs (close to each other) examples: 1. "Silky Bob" traveled far to see his friend. 2. Bob and Jimmy were and still are old friends. 3. As lifelong friends, Bob and Jimmy kept their agreement. |

Compound sentences have two or more sentences connected by one of the FANBOYS: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So or a semicolon ; examples: Bob was a criminal, but Jimmy was a policeman. Bob was a criminal; Jimmy was a policeman. Bob, a well-dressed fugitive, was the criminal, yet Jimmy was the law enforcer.
