Sentences

Simple sentences have one or more subjects (close to each other)

and/or one or more verbs

(close to each other)

examples:

1. "Silky Bob" traveled far to see his friend.

2. Bob and Jimmy were and still are old friends.

3. As lifelong friends, Bob and Jimmy kept their agreement.

Compound sentences have two or more sentences connected by one of the FANBOYS: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So

or

a semicolon ;

examples:

Bob was a criminal, but Jimmy was a policeman.

Bob was a criminal; Jimmy was a policeman.

Bob, a well-dressed fugitive, was the criminal, yet Jimmy was the law enforcer.
